A Fiber Optic Attenuator reduces the power of an optical signal. Attenuators are commonly used to test power level margins by temporarily adding a calibrated amount of signal loss. They are also installed permanently to properly match transmitter and receiver levels.

These fixed-type attenuators provide easy insertion by connecting in-line with an SC or LC type cable. As with all fiber connected devices, it's important to properly clean the mating surfaces before final placement.
