HDMI over Cat5e/Cat6 Extender Diagram

HDMI over Cat5e/Cat6 extenders allow high-definition video and audio signals to be transmitted over Ethernet cable for much longer distances than a standard HDMI cable. They are commonly used in home theaters, conference rooms, classrooms, digital signage, and commercial AV installations where the source device and display are separated by a significant distance.

The diagram below illustrates a typical HDMI over Cat5e/Cat6 extender installation using a transmitter, receiver, and two Ethernet cables.

Features

  • Easy installation using two Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cables.
  • Extends HDMI signals up to 50 meters (160 feet) at Full HD 1080p resolution.
  • Supports 36-bit color depth.
  • Supports 3D video.
  • Receiver is powered using a DC 5V power adapter.
