These cables have the advantages of low power, less bulk and a small form factor. Direct Attach (DA) is commonly refered to as 10GSFP+Cu, 10GBase-CR, 10GBase-CX1, SFP+, or 10GbE Cu SFP cables.
Direct Attach uses a passive twin-ax cable assembly that connects directly into a zinc die-cast SFF-8431 SFP+ connector.
